Terminal South
Terminal South is the social and commercial hub of Atlanta’s historic Peoplestown neighborhood, transforming a long-vacant industrial warehouse and former coal yard into a walkable, transit-connected destination designed to serve surrounding communities including Peoplestown, Grant Park, and Summerhill. Located steps from the Atlanta BeltLine’s Southside Trail and positioned as the final stop on the city’s first-ever bus rapid transit line, MARTA Rapid A-Line, the project reflects a deliberate commitment to transit-oriented, community-centered urban design.
The development features the adaptive reuse of two former warehouse structures, introducing approximately 45,625 square feet of mixed-use space. Rather than demolish the existing buildings, the design team preserved their structural shells and industrial character—maintaining the scale, material authenticity, and rhythm that define the site’s historic fabric. This approach significantly reduced construction waste, conserved embodied energy, and retained a meaningful architectural connection to the neighborhood’s industrial past.
